It’s been marvellous to see Tim Slade’s collection of poems, The Walnut Tree (published by Bright South) amongst all of the worthy contenders for the inaugural Tim Thorne Prize for Poetry, in the 2022 Tasmanian Literary Awards.
The Walnut Tree was longlisted for the Tim Thorne Prize which placed it in the top ten entries, which is a fantastic achievement in its own right.
To celebrate, we have decided to offer you ten pages of The Walnut Tree totally for free! Scroll down and you will find them. These pages were prepared after the Tas Literary Awards organisers (Arts Tasmania) asked us to submit them so that they could be used in the People’s Choice Award, should The Walnut Tree have been Shortlisted. It was not, but we thought you might enjoy reading the extract anyway. We hope you enjoy this celebratory walnut-flavoured taster!
If you like it, you can get The Walnut Tree in its entirety here | read more about The Walnut Tree and why Bright South published it.
